Ameri-king emergency locator transmitter sells strong with general aviation aircraft. The US and the FAA have not mandated the use of the new 406MHz ELT. Because of this it is very easy and cheap to replace an old 121.5 ELT or install a new 121.5 MHz in any general aviation aircraft. While the new 406 MHz ELT is far superior to the 121.5 models, it is legal and cheap to install the old style 121.5 MHz emergency locator transmitters.
