Artex emergency locator transmitter saves the life of an Alaska pilot in the bush.  After along day flying hunters into the Alaskan bush, a pilot was taking on his last run to pick up two hunters in his 206 Cessna when trouble struck.  The engine experienced a catastrophic engine failure over remote territory in an inland valley almost 100 miles from civilization.  The pilot was able to land safely but unable to make contact with anyone due to the remote mountainous location.  Upon landing he manually activated his Artex ME406 emergency locator transmitter and rescue services arrived within hours via airplane to his exact location.
